High-quality waste from end-of-life tyres are usually sent for material recycling. The tyres delivered to the plant are cut up, stripped of any foreign materials (e.g. textile fibres, wire), and then shredded into rubber granules (downcycling). These granules are then used, amongst other things, to produce breeding mats, bituminous surfacing or road safety equipment. The recovered wire is remelted in steelworks, whilst the textiles are used in the production of concrete.
If end-of-life tyres are not suitable for mechanical recycling, they are sent for energy recovery in a waste-to-energy plant or a cement works. During the incineration process, thermal energy is recovered from the waste, which can be used to heat the plant or converted into electricity.
Hassle-free collection and disposal of agricultural tyres
Used agricultural tyres constitute a specific category of waste. Interzero organises their collection tyres from tractors, trailers, combine harvesters and other machinery used on farms and by companies providing services to the agricultural sector.

In the case of larger batches of waste or regular collections, we arrange the service on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the frequency of transport, the weight of the tyres to be collected, the location of the storage site and the loading conditions.
