What types of cleaners do we collect?

As part of our service, we collect used cleaning cloths classified under codes in the waste catalogue from customers throughout Poland:

  • 15 02 02* - sorbents, filter materials, wiping cloths and protective clothing contaminated with hazardous substances,
  • 15 02 03 - absorbents, filter materials, wiping cloths and protective clothing other than those mentioned in 15 02 02*.

The most common are:

  • Textile (e.g. rags), paper, polypropylene and cellulose cleaning (e.g. paper towel) contaminated with oils, solvents, dust, metal filings and other substances,
  • contaminated sorbents (granules, mats, pads and sorbent hoses),
  • used cloths and protective mats,
  • filters and filter materials (e.g. from vehicles, air conditioning, industrial machinery),
  • filter masks and filters for masks,
  • materials that absorb chemical spills,
  • work clothing and footwear contaminated with hazardous substances,
  • clean or contaminated non-hazardous cleaners.

Collection of cleaning and sorbents vs. waste records in BDO

Businesses generating hazardous waste are required to keep waste records in the BDO system. If you wish to request collection of cleaning cloths containing hazardous substances (15 02 02*), Your company must be on the BDO register! Otherwise you will not be able to issue a Waste Transfer Card, which is necessary for Interzero and any other legitimate waste transport company to collect your waste.

Check whether you need to register with BDO >>

Do you not have an entry in BDO? It's not a problem! Our experts will help you with all the formalities.and will apply for registration on behalf of your company. All you need to do is inform us of your need to register with BDO when you order your waste cleaning collection.

Companies that produce only small quantities (up to 200 kg/year) of cleaning and sorbents with the code 15 02 03 may benefit from an exemption from record-keeping and from registration with BDO (as long as they do not produce other waste for which registration and record-keeping are mandatory). If you benefit from such an exemption, you do not need to issue a Waste Transfer Note before Interzero performs the service. However, please note that The exemption applies only to waste that does not have hazardous properties!

How do you prepare your cleaning and sorbent waste for collection and disposal?

We collect waste cleaning material in containers, mausers, containers and drums, among others. At present, we do not have the capacity to collect bulk cleaning waste - if you need a container, inform our expert when ordering the service. At the customer's request, we can provide a container or bin adapted to the quantity, type and properties of the cleaners and sorbents to be collected.

If you keep records of your waste with BDO, prior to your collection appointment prepare a Waste Transfer Note (KPO) and enter the codes and the estimated weight of the cleaner. If you do not know the waste code, ask our consultant to help you assign the correct designation. The weight of the waste in the KPO may be an estimate - you can correct this at a later date, if necessary, after the waste has been accurately weighed at the treatment facility.

Remember that according to current waste management legislation, used cleaners, both hazardous and non-hazardous, must be stored properly until collected by an authorised company. Waste from cleaners, filters and sorbents should therefore be collect selectively at the place where they are manufactured, i.e. in a production facility, workshop, etc., and store in a manner that prevents mixing them with other waste.

The storage of cleaning products with hazardous properties should be carried out in sealed and durable containers that prevent the leakage of residual chemicals, oils or solvents into the environment. Adherence to proper storage not only reduces environmental risks, but also facilitates subsequent waste collection.
