What chemical waste do we collect? Types and codes of chemicals

We offer collection and legal management of all types of waste and chemical reagents - both hazardous and non-hazardous. In particular, we collect:

  • chemical substances and mixtures of substances (e.g. acids, bases, solvents),
  • out-of-date chemicals stored in industrial plants,
  • chemical packaging (e.g. 15 01 10*),
  • waste from industrial and research laboratories (e.g. 16 05 06* and others),
  • expired medicines,
  • chemical reagents used in diagnostics (e.g. 18 01 06*, 18 01 07),
  • waste from chemical processes in production and processing plants,
  • plant protection products, fertilisers and other substances used on farms.

How do we carry out the collection of chemical waste?

Upon acceptance of a chemical waste collection order we organise all logistics and send our customers vehicle information (e.g. registration number) and details of the waste collection company. Due to the form of most chemicals (liquid or powder), waste is collected in sealed containers, e.g. drums, containers, mausers, etc., the type of which is adapted to the specific properties of the waste.

In accordance with current legislation, collection of chemical waste from a company or institution must be preceded by the issue of a waste transfer note (KPO) in the BDO system. The customer should generate the card before the agreed collection time. Once the waste has been collected by our driver, we take full responsibility for it. However, the customer retains the right to request a DPR document (only applies to selected types of waste, e.g. packaging).

We only transfer waste to facilities that have permits for processing, i.e. either recovery or disposal. In this way, our partners can be assured that waste is managed in a compliant, safe and transparent manner - both operationally and in terms of documentation. When waste is accepted at the plant, its weight is verified. If this weight differs from that indicated on the KPO, the customer is notified that a correction is required document. If the weight is correct, the KPO completes its circulation in BDO.

What does the disposal of chemical waste look like?

The disposal of chemical waste requires a specialised approach and special care. Every the waste is first qualified and possibly subjected to laboratory tests, The waste can be treated in a variety of ways, such as neutralisation, incineration in high-temperature furnaces, rectification or recovery of raw materials. Depending on the properties of the waste, stabilisation, distillation, energy recovery and, if there are no other options, storage under controlled conditions are also used.

The treatment of some types of chemical waste is indicated in the legislative acts. Others, on the other hand, may be treated by various methods - it should be remembered that only non-exhaustive catalogues of recovery and disposal processes are listed in the Act, so unusual, infrequent wastes may require an individual approach. The aim is not only to manage the waste safely, but also to reduce its negative impact on the environment and maximise the recovery of raw materials.
